Canada Week 2019

Canada House is buzzing with excitement over the upcoming CANADA WEEK! Scheduled for March 4-9, 2019, Canada Week made its return to Western’s campus after a few years’ hiatus with a list of exciting campus and community-wide events.

A film series included a screening of Zachary Richard, Toujours Batailleur and discussion with filmmaker Phil Comeau, as well as a screening of Haida language film Sgaawaay K’uuna, (Edge of the Knife).

The musical duo PARTNER finished their West Coast tour in Bellingham as well. They are not to be missed!

Some outstanding Canadian authors visited Bellingham, including Sophie Labelle to share her web comic series Serious Trans Vibes. As well, Canada Week held lectures, student-faculty connection events, and field trips.

K-12 Education and Curriculum Specialist Kyla Sweet also hosted an event “Reading the North” with WWU librarian Sylvia Tag for local schoolteachers. Check out Kyla’s newsletter!
